Joy Donnell

Strategist + Producer

Joy Donnell is a producer, brand strategist and author. When she isn’t behind the camera creating editorials, documentaries, short films and visual campaigns, she's on stage speaking about media, parity and public image. One of Joy's most recent projects is with The Africa Channel and includes a 10-episode docuseries and social media campaign. Entitled "What If Movie Icons Wore African Fashion?", the campaign raises awareness for pan-African entrepreneurship, cultural understanding and conscious fashion. Joy is Chief Visionary of SUPERJOY Media as well as a cofounder of the Center for Intersectional Media and Entertainment, or CIME. Her forthcoming book, Beyond Brand, focuses on using media to build cultural legacy and is available fall 2019.

Munika Lay

Creative + Business Development

Munika Lay is a producer and business development executive whose credits include THE ART OF SELF-DEFENSE, SABOTAGE, and RECORDER: THE MARION STOKES PROJECT. Munika joined CIME from End Cue, an independent production company where she headed business development, operations, and finance. Prior to that, she led the Strategic Planning & Business Development group at Paramount Pictures and worked at Warner Bros., QED International, and WME. Munika hails from Long Beach, California, and she earned her MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business and her BA from Stanford University.

Dr. Nicole Haggard, PhD

Academic + Consultant

Dr. Nicole Amber Haggard is an award-winning instructor, speaker and published researcher with sixteen years of study contextualizing the intersection of race and gender in American culture. Dr. Nicole is a faculty member in the Film, Media, and Social Justice program at Mount Saint Mary’s University and the Director of Communications for the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. In 2018, Dr. Nicole co-founded the Center for Intersectional Media and Entertainment (CIME/see-me/), an organization dedicated to advancing representation. In addition to her speaking and writing, she is a featured expert for outlets like Variety, Glamour, and NBC. Dr. Nicole is currently completing her forthcoming book “Race, Sex, and Hollywood” due out in 2020.
